Do numbing creams, gels & sprays work?

Where can numbing products be applied?
Apply only on healthy, unbroken skin before the procedure. Avoid eyes, mucous membranes, or open wounds. Gels and sprays may be reapplied with caution, but creams are designed for single pre-treatment application.
How to use numbing products correctly?
Clean and dry the area, apply a thick layer of cream (cover with occlusive wrap if needed) 30–60 minutes before treatment. Gels/sprays require 3–5 minutes. Always read the specific instructions on the product page.
How long until the numbing takes effect?
Creams typically start working within 25–45 minutes. Gels activate in 5–10 minutes, while sprays can work almost instantly. Onset time varies per individual, so we recommend a patch test first.
How long does numbness last?
Depending on the product, effects can last from 1 hour up to 5+ hours. Creams generally provide extended relief, while gels/sprays offer shorter windows. Refer to each product’s technical sheet for precise duration.
Is it safe to use before a tattoo?
Yes, numbing cream is widely used before tattooing. It reduces surface pain significantly without affecting ink absorption or skin quality when applied properly. Follow guidelines and never use on broken skin.
Why does cream colour vary inside the tube?
Sometimes raw ingredient batches cause slight colour variation (white to light pink). This does NOT affect strength, quality or safety. Efficacy remains identical regardless of shade differences.
Possible side effects?
Mild side effects may include temporary redness, tingling, paleness or slight itching. These are normal and fade quickly. Avoid use if allergic to lidocaine or similar anesthetics. Consult a doctor if irritation persists.
Skin turned red after use – is that normal?
Yes, minor redness is expected as blood vessels dilate after numbing wears off. It usually disappears within a few hours. If accompanied by severe swelling or rash, discontinue use and seek medical advice.
How many consecutive days can I use the product?
We do not recommend using numbing products for more than 3 consecutive days on the same area. Extended use may increase skin sensitivity. Always allow the skin to recover between applications.
What if the numbing effect wears off during procedure?
Once the effect fades, sensitivity may temporarily increase. Gels or sprays can sometimes be reapplied, but creams are not designed for reapplication on broken skin. Plan your session within the active window.
